Extension Preparation & Aftercare

You must ensure your hair does not have any excess oils; this can often cause your hair extensions to slide out.
It is extremely important to make sure that your hair is prepared correctly for your extension appointment.
A couple of hours before your extension fitting appointment you will need to wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo. Please ensure you wash your hair twice thoroughly. This will adequately remove the natural oils which have built up in your hair.
Only apply conditioner on the ends of your hair.
Do not apply any products to your hair before your dry it.
You need to wash your hair on the day of your fitting, a couple of hours before your appointment.

Do not wash your hair for 48 hours after having your extensions applied.
Do not tie your hair up high and tight on top of your head.
Use oil on the mid lengths and ends of your extensions every day before you brush your hair.
Brush your hair when you wake up and before your go to bed.
Brush your hair before you wash it, making sure you have removed any knots or tangles.
Tie your hair in a loose pony tail or plait before you go to bed.
Only use a Tangle Teezer / Tangle Tamer to brush your hair. starting from the bottom working your way up the hair, make sure you hold the tabs to avoid any tension on your scalp.
Always use a sulphate free shampoo and conditioner.
Apply a moisture mask once a week.
Never wash your hair upside down, over the bath or in bath water.
Avoid products that contain protein in them as this can dry the hair out.
Always dry your hair after washing it, never let your extensions dry naturally.
Do not let your hair get too greasy as the extensions will start to slide.
We recommend to wash your hair 2-3 times a week.
Do not use dry shampoo near the tabs of your extensions as this will make them loosen.
Make sure you do not get fake tan, body lotion, sunscreen or perfume on your extensions as this can discolour them.
